Internationa Classification of Diseases for Oncology, 3rd Edition (ICD-O-3)

International Classification of Diseases 10th revision (ICD-10) classifies neoplasms in its 2nd chapter. ICD-10 classifies diseases based on topology, while ICD-O-3 is aimed to classify neoplasms specifically from the view of not only topology, but also morphology. Thus, ICD-O-3 histologically classifies neoplasms. ICD-10 is used for morbidity and mortality surveillance aimed at public health, while ICD-O-3 is used for diagnosis and/or resistor of neoplasms.
